BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The American Heart Association seeks to increase the community's access to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). The MCSO has been awarded $125,000 to purchase a minimum of 50 AEDs to ensure every MCSO Field Unit has an assigned AED.  Originally, the MCSO submitted RFBA 23-0521 to affirm submission of a grant application and receipt of 75 AED devices.  However, the American Heart Association secured funding and has awarded the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office with $125,000 to purchase the AED devices.  The current RFBA is an amendment to the previously submitted RFBA 23-0521.
