Confirm and approve the second terms and the appointment of the new members to our Home and Community Care Block Grant Advisory Committee

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

With the support of our current HCCBG Advisory Committee members, we would like to recommend 4 potential members and confirm the second term of 3 members. The current members have served two three-year terms and their replacements are listed on the attached committee list and are as follows:

The HCCBG Committee’s main function is to help determine the allocation of funds to various agency’s that support senior services in Mecklenburg County. The

committee meets quarterly throughout the fiscal year. The service providers present to the committee annually to request funding to continue their programs and services for the next fiscal year. These rankings are tallied and sent to DSS Finance Department as recommendation for funding allocation. The services are:

 

                     Adult Day Care/ Adult Day Health

                     Congregate Nutrition

                     Consumer Directed Care

                     Home Delivered Meals

                     In Home Aide Services

                     Senior Center Operations

                     Transportation (Congregate)

                     Transportation (General)
