ACTION:
Nomination/Appointment needed on the Planning Commission to fill one (1) three-year term expiring June 30, 2029, Board of Education (BOE) slot.
The Board can nominate/appoint Robert Allen for the BOE slot. In accordance with the Planning Commission By-Laws, he received the Board of Education's recommendation. His application is attached, as well as, a recommendation statement from the Board of Education.
All nominees must be interviewed, per Board policy. However, the Board may forego the interview process for this applicant if they desire.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
An appointment is needed on the above said board to fill the BOE slot. Rick Winiker resigned. Robert Allen has been recommended for appointment to fill that slot.
Per the Planning Commission bylaws: The Board of Education has two (2) positions to which they make recommendations, but with the approval of one position by the Board of County Commissioners and the approval of one by the Charlotte City Council, respectively.
This is one of several boards that require an interview process conducted by an Ad Hoc Committee of the Board. This is a compensated advisory board.
