ACTION:

A) Adopt a grant project ordinance for FY25 Department of Public Safety  Division of Juvenile Justice Funds in the General Grants Fund (G001).

 

B) Recognize, receive, and appropriate up to $2,051,713 to the General Grants Fund (G001) within Criminal Justice Services

 

C) Approve FY25 Funding allocation plan as recommended by the Mecklenburg County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council in the amount up to $2,051,713

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The Mecklenburg County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) will receive $2,051,713 in FY25 funding from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. In turn, the JCPC makes recommendations for the distribution of the funds to community based programs that address juvenile justice involvement. The JCPC is charged with reviewing the needs of juveniles within the community who are delinquent or at-risk of becoming court-involved, assessing local services needs and presenting an annual service proposal to the BOCC
