BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The subject property owner and developer, Blackburn Communities LLC, has proposed to donate Tax Parcel 029-321-53 (+/- 0.62 acres) to the County in accordance with its approved rezoning of the Prosperity Junction located on Johnston Oehler Road in Charlotte. The land is surrounded by newly developed residential communities near Mallard Creek High School and Corvian Community School making it a great location for a small walkable park.
The donation is consistent with Meck Playbook that calls for the addition of parkland, greenway and open space within the County. It is also consistent with the County’s Environmental Leadership Action Plan.
